The Open Canoe originates from the Native’s of North America who built the craft for travelling, hunting and trading. Today the canoe is used mainly for recreational purposes and is possibly our most popular activity. It’s fun and easy to learn and once you have acquired the basic skills many exciting opportunities await, day journeys on Loch Lomond, expeditions on the lochs of the Far North or paddle some of Scotland’s great rivers such as the Spey, Dee or the Tay
