Active Aviemore

Active Aviemore - A new concept in outdoor leisure has arrived.

Aviemore’s newest visitor attraction, at the old tourist office on Grampian Road, has been transformed into an impressive new outdoor activity and booking centre.
Situated just south of the centre of the village Active Aviemore is a café, gallery, outdoor activity bookings centre and retail shop all in one location.  Active Outdoor Pursuits in Newtonmore and Ayrshire, have expanded their business with Active Aviemore to capitalise upon the growing interest in outdoor and adventure activities in the Cairngorms National Park employing 15 new members of staff.

The activities which can be booked at the centre range from white water rafting, canyoning, duckies, and kayaking to gorge scrambling, climbing and hill-walking.  Equipment hire including a range of mountain bikes will be onsite, and during winter months ski and board packages will be available.

      

The Cafaidh (Gaelic café) and gallery is upstairs and open from 8am till 10pm offering a selection of fine Scottish produce including Summer Isles Salmon, the world famous Lochinver pies as well as specialist coffee supplied by Bei Nannini.

       

The retail shop is manned by qualified instructors and graduates of Active’s instructor training programme who will be on hand to offer expert advice regarding booking activities, safety issues or simply questions on the best outdoor clothing to wear when experiencing the outdoors.  There is an extensive selection of outdoor equipment with some great new brands coming to Scotland.

Other great offers from Active include a discount scheme, to outdoor instructors & guides living or working in Strathspey, on all equipment, food & books.  Active also offer discount to members of outdoor sports national governing bodies.
