Experience the thrills and spills of white water rafting. This activity is a great experience for youth groups it’s a fun packed, sociable activity and doesn’t require any experience or high levels of fitness.
Active offer you the biggest selection of rivers throughout the whole of Scotland. We raft Scotland’s best rivers from the River Nith and Ayr in the South, Tay or Awe in the Southern Highlands to the Spey, Dee and Findhorn In the north.
Active being a mobile adventure company operate raft trips at all the best rivers in the country, being mobile gives us the flexibility to go to the river which has the best conditions on the day or the river of your choice. CanyoningA real adrenaline sport involving climbing or descending waterfalls and gorges. Canyoning is great fun activity available throughout Scotland. Involves scrambling & climbing up or down small rivers & canyons and includes sliding into pools and will involve some swimming. We use gorges suitable only for adults.
Gorge Scrambling & Walking
You will be fitted out with Wet suits, Buoyancy aids and helmets in preparation for launching yourself into deep pools, swimming through narrow canyons, sliding down naturally formed rock flumes, climbing waterfalls etc… etc…. You will get wet and you will have a fantastic time! Gorge walking is a milder version of Gorge Scrambling. It involves walking and scrambling up narrow rivers and gorges. You will wear water proofs and are likely only to get your feet wet. Canoeing
Open canadian canoes are the large two person boats paddled with a single blade paddle.
Our taster days are designed to be first and foremost a fun day out. Secondly our instructors hope to inspire and motivate you to take up the sport as a hobby now or sometime in the future. Taster days will cover the basic skills of canoeing and allow you to experience being able to take control of your boat and take it on a short journey. The days are suited to complete beginners or those with a little experience. Active run taster day’s throughout Scotland using lochs and rivers within easy driving distance of your groups base.
Kayaking
With our fleet of modern river running and play boats you can learn basic paddling skills quickly. Our taster days are designed to be first and foremost a fun day out. Secondly our instructors hope to inspire and motivate you to take up the sport as a hobby now or sometime in the future. Taster days will cover the basic skills of kayaking and allow you to experience being able to take control of your boat and take it on a short journey or play on some easy moving water. Active run taster day’s throughout Scotland using lochs and rivers within easy driving distance of your group base.
Mountain Biking Is one of Scotland’s fastest growing sports with new purpose built trails being constructed across the country. Scotland has endless miles of forest trails and an abundance of technical terrain for the more adventurous.
In the South Of Scotland Mountain Biking Trails exist throughout the Ayrshire & Galloway Forest, the Borders, the 7 Stane’s. In the Highlands, Laggan Wolftrax near Newtonmore and Nevis Range at Fort William, have helped give Scotland a World class reputation for Mountain biking. Mountain bike hire for adults and children are available from Active Aviemore.

Rock climbing & Abseiling
Our climbing taster days are designed to be first and foremost a fun day out with friends. Secondly our instructors hope to inspire and motivate you to take up rock climbing as a hobby. Taster days will cover the basic skills of rock climbing and allow you to experience the thrill of abseiling. The days are suited to complete beginners or those with a little experience. Courses are based throughout Scotland using easily accessible local crags.

Active offer walks tailored to suit all abilities from lowland coastal walks to high-level mountain walks. Day walks are available throughout Scotland all year round climbing hills within easy travelling distance of your school or youth group base. Do you want to get away for a weekend? And get the chance to develop your skills. Join us at Craigower or on a camping trip in hill mountainous areas from Galloway to The Far North of Scotland.
We also provide training and supervision for Duke Of Edinburgh Award expeditions.
